Chief Executive Officer
Ronnette Smith is the Chief Executive Officer of Future Foundation in Atlanta, Georgia. The Future Foundation is a unique inner-city program offering students and their families the support they need to thrive in and out of the classroom. Smith was hired to oversee the management of a $2 million dollar budget and 60 employees at a nonprofit that has been praised for helping struggling families continue to educate their children during the pandemic.
Joining Our Legacy
Founded in 2001, Future Foundation levels the playing field for metro Atlanta youth by providing quality education, health, and life skills programming. The afterschool program connects over 500 youth and their parents annually with the tools and resources they need to escape poverty. For more than ten years, 100% of Future Foundation enrolled students have graduated high school on time and are well-prepared for post-secondary education.

Smith has 35 years of experience with large corporations working in retail, communication, and technology leadership roles. Smith has a track record of delivering bottom-line results for individuals, teams, entrepreneurs, organizations, and businesses.
For nine years, Smith was a member of the Corporate Affairs team at Walmart, where she helped build national and local Walmart relationships with key influencers in all sectors. This work involved interaction with politicians, suppliers, customers, communities, and employees.
While at Walmart, Smith managed the company’s collaborative alliance and recruitment program, involving 170 emerging leaders across 20 states. Those leaders were policymakers and leaders of non-profits working in diverse and underserved communities across the nation.
Smith joined Future Foundation in July 2022, during a pivotal time of transformation.
