Black Marriage Day Couple Highlight – Marcus & Lingtoya

March 23, 2015 by Future Foundation

How long  have you been married?

Marcus & Lingtoya:  We will be married nine years on August 5, 2015.

How did you guys meet?

Marcus & Lingtoya :  We met at our jobs.

What were your first impressions of each other?

Marcus & Lingtoya :  At that time we were concerned about each other’s looks but we also had great conversation.

What made you want to get married?

Marcus:  She had her goals set and we had a similar mindset for the future.  She was very kind-hearted a good person and she would be a good mother for the children.

Lingtoya: I thought he was a kind person and very mature.  He had his life and goals straight with a job, house and car of his own.

How did you propose?

Marcus: I did it the old fashioned way.  I popped up at her house, got on one knee and proposed on the spot.

Do you have any marriage survival tips?

Marcus & Lingtoya: Communicate and have patience.

How do you keep the fire burning in your relationship?

Marcus & Lingtoya: Understand and know what your partner likes then do those things.
