On Thursday, April 27, 2023, Future Foundation will celebrate Atlanta’s past, present, and future investments in education for resilient youth. Future Foundation is thrilled to announce that its annual Keep It 100% Luncheon is back in-person this year.
Future Foundation’s Keep it 100% Luncheon brings donors, community leaders, and many of its students from various backgrounds and neighborhoods together for a powerful experience that highlights the work of the Future Foundation, which serves 550 metro Atlanta youth and their parents annually. 100% of Future Foundation students that remain engaged in the program graduate. Future Foundation students graduate at twice the rates of their peers.
The Keep It 100% Luncheon is a collective way that we can all help to nurture the leaders of tomorrow today. Those in attendance represent a cross-section of Atlanta’s philanthropic, corporate, and civic communities, as well as education advocates. Future Foundation students join each table to share their stories and form relationships with community leaders.
This year, the Luncheon is hosted by The Atlanta Woman’s Club. The Atlanta Woman’s Club is one of the oldest non-profit woman’s organizations in Atlanta, organized in 1895. AWC is a non-profit philanthropic organization made up of professional women of all ages, races and religions who share a common goal: to work together to improve our local community, socially, physically, culturally and educationally. Each year, Future Foundation presents two community awards. The 2023 Jean Childs Young Individual Leadership in Education Award will be presented posthumously to Thomas “Tommy” W. Dortch Jr, and the 2023 Ann Cramer Corporate Leadership in Education Award will be presented to The UPS Foundation. These distinguished awardees were chosen for their significant contributions to education for metro Atlanta’s most vulnerable youth.

About Future Foundation
In 2001, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, along with his wife, Delicia, and sister Qaadirah Abdur-Rahim, started the Future Foundation to help level the playing field for students in Atlanta’s underserved communities. The organization began as an afterschool program for 15 students in some of Atlanta’s most underfunded communities and has grown into a paradigm-shifting network serving over 500 middle-and high-school students in the South Fulton community through after-school classes, family support workshops, and corporate mentorships. Future Foundation is proud of its highly successful, easily quantifiable, and replicable model that has the potential to disrupt poverty the world over.
The Future Foundation employs its Second Family model, a program developed, tested, and refined over six years of research and pilot studies, to provide each student with a network of supportive adults outside their own home who can offer academic, social-emotional, and career-planning support.
Future Foundation is leveling the playing field for youth caught in a cycle of generational poverty by serving as a Second Family, providing exposure to new experiences, and reinforcing the skills needed to thrive in adulthood. Future Foundation works together across the community to provide a safe, supportive environment where students can grow intellectually, gain confidence, and pursue a path that leads our youth out of poverty and into self-sustaining adulthood.
