A Banneker High School College and Career Readiness Assembly Series
Future Foundation’s College 4 Careers program will be hosting college & career readiness assemblies for all Banneker High School junior and senior students. The assemblies will be held in the school’s auditorium on March 27, 2014 and April 16, 2014 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. and from 12:55 to 2:15 p.m.
The morning assembly will be for juniors and will be geared toward the importance of starting the college preparation process early and educating students on the requirements. The afternoon assembly will be for seniors and will be geared toward the importance of developing a college and career plan, setting goals, and how to stay focused and motivated.
The assemblies will be set up in a four to six person panel format. The junior assembly panel will be composed of college admissions counselors, current college students, and college professors. The senior assembly panel will be composed of career professionals from various backgrounds and college professors. The students will be presented with the individual backgrounds of each person on the panel and will be given the opportunity to ask questions toward the end of the assembly in a 10-minute segment. There will be a prize giveaway at the end of the assembly.
