My heart has been heavy this week as I learned about the consecutive killings of two South Fulton students due to senseless violence. One of those students, Benson West, was a freshmen at Banneker High School and participating in our RealTalk ATL Program. I never met Benson, but I learned from our team this morning he was quiet in class, it was clear he was struggling with something, and recently asked about our College4Careers Program. Hearing about Benson's inquiry eerily illustrated for me the gap between the dreams and the realities facing our youth living in impossible situations due to violence and poverty. Above are pictures I received this week of students at Banneker High School … [Read more...] about Dreams vs. Reality

SUMMERTIME STEM @ SIEMENS
On Tuesday 7/15/2014 the teens were invited to participate in Siemens Science Day. George Buchanan, a Future Foundation Board Member, taught the teens all about windmills and how they operate. Future Foundation is looking for some young leaders
Since its inception in 2001, the Future Foundation has grown into a successful ‘second family’ for more than a thousand young people. The idea for YLC came from one of our current board members, who saw the Council as a way for young professionals to raise awareness of Future Foundation among their peers while providing a means to give back. Members of the Young Leaders Council have a unique opportunity to make … [Read more...] about Future Foundation is looking for some young leaders
