Future Foundation Students & Duke TIP

Summer Brown and Chris Patterson, seventh graders at Woodland Middle School and active participants in our Reef House Learning Center, were selected to take a test for the Duke University Talent Identification Program (DukeTIP). Summer was the only seventh grader in the South Fulton Learning Community who was accepted into the Summer Program. Duke TIP is a global leader in identifying academically gifted students and providing them with opportunities to support their development. Future Foundation is looking for some young leaders

Since its inception in 2001, the Future Foundation has grown into a successful ‘second family’ for more than a thousand young people. And now we’d like to add to the family with our new Young Leaders Council (YLC). The YLC is a diverse and talented group of young professionals whose collective goal is to further pursue the mission of Future Foundation and enhance the lives of young people in the Atlanta area. The idea for YLC came from one of our current board members, who saw the Council as a way for young professionals to raise awareness of Future Foundation among their peers while providing a means to give back. United Way announces FUTURE FOUNDATION as winner of their $300,000 Dare to Forget the Box Prize – to implement the innovative works of the College Park Enrichment Collaboration (CPEC)!

Today, United Way of Greater Atlanta announced the winners of its DARE to Forget the Box! prizes. Out of the 80 agencies that applied and 25 finalists, we were one of four collaborative teams addressing critical systemic issues to be selected to receive prizes. We are proud to say that we are a recipient of a $300,000 grant annually, totaling $900,000 over the next three years that will greatly impact the lives of over a hundred youth and families in South Fulton!
