Today, United Way of Greater Atlanta announced the winners of its DARE to Forget the Box! prizes. Out of the 80 agencies that applied and 25 finalists, we were one of four collaborative teams addressing critical systemic issues to be selected to receive prizes. We are proud to say that we are a recipient of a $300,000 grant annually, totaling $900,000 over the next three years that will greatly impact the lives of over a hundred youth and families in South Fulton! When I got pregnant with my first born at 14 and had her at 15. I never knew a "childhood" or "teen life", my mother is an alcoholic & so I grew up my whole life taking care of an adult. But a curve ball came at me when I found out I was pregnant. The baby's father immediately gathered abortion papers, & didn't want this baby for anything! My mom was the same way... But since it was MY CHOICE, I decided to keep my baby. I'm 21 years old and have 3 sons by the same woman. I'm currently trying to find housing so that we can all be together and live as a family. My goal is to be the best dad in the world and love and support them unconditionally. I am 23 years old and had my first child when I was 17.
