United Way announces FUTURE FOUNDATION as winner of their $300,000 Dare to Forget the Box Prize – to implement the innovative works of the College Park Enrichment Collaboration (CPEC)!

Today, United Way of Greater Atlanta announced the winners of its DARE to Forget the Box! prizes. Out of the 80 agencies that applied and 25 finalists, we were one of four collaborative teams addressing critical systemic issues to be selected to receive prizes. We are proud to say that we are a recipient of a $300,000 grant annually, totaling $900,000 over the next three years that will greatly impact the lives of over a hundred youth and families in South Fulton! Post Event Update: American Promise Movie Screening, Panel Discussion, & Essay Contest

On  November 11, Future Foundation presented, A Conversation With Our  Sons,  a panel discussion and film screening designed to equip the  audience  with skills to successfully raise African American males and  provide  them with heroes in their lives in the form of mentors. In addition to the film screening, male students at Tri-Cities High School participated in an essay contest where they reflected on what it means to be a successful young man in America, barriers faced, and what it takes to overcome obstacles. Designing Our Future Presentation Day

Friday's Designing The Future Presentation Day was a great success! Our young ladies presented their inspiration boards on their styles for the first apartments. Their styles ranged from eclectic, modern, to transient. We thank Janet Prioleau for donating her time, enriching the lives of our young women and showing them that visions are attainable. As a part of our enrichment series, some of our college bound ladies have the opportunity to design inspiration boards of their first apartments and would like to share their experience with you. Our young ladies will take part in a 4 day workshop on July 8-11, 2013 where they will learn about interior design and its best practices by experimenting with design styles, products and furnishings in order to create their own story boards of their first apartments.
