Since 2012, UPS has awarded Future Foundation more than $50,000 to support after-school programming. In early 2015, we requested additional funding to support the Reef House Afterschool Program (RHAP) Digital Learning Lab Project.
Digital media is altering the landscape of learning in both higher education and K-12 schools. Access to technology out-of-school is crucial to students’ success in the classroom and ultimately in their careers. An investment in a digital learning lab enables us to provide an inclusive and blended digital learning experience tailored to each student in an effort to increase digital literacy and math skills, time spent on digital learning activities and student achievement. We are delighted UPS made a $23,110 investment to help fund our Digital Learning Lab Project.
We are also expanding our relationship with UPS to offer student experiences through visits to the company’s local distribution center and examining a program that will offer UPS summer internship or job opportunities for some of our graduating seniors and alumni.
In addition, UPS employees have volunteered since 2012 at our annual Breast Cancer Powderpuff Football Game. Their volunteer hours equate to actual dollars that UPS donates back to Future Foundation.
